Terry-Len Grant Foundation

The Terry Len Grant Foundation, inspired by Lenda Jo Gibson and Carl Terry Gibson, was established to support business owners in their journey to innovate and grow their companies. Lenda Gibson was a third-generation entrepreneur, descending from Arellua Mitchell. As the owners of Terry Len Transportation, Terry Len Enterprises, Positive Plus Images, and TLC Enterprises, they have been dedicated to providing businesses with opportunities since the early 1990s.

Lenda Jo Gibson was a trailblazer, being one of the first Black women to work at Texas Commerce Bank. She also worked alongside Reverend Jesse Jackson in 1971 for Operation PUSH and was an advocate for women's rights and equality in the workforce in Milwaukee, WI. Through her various business ventures, she donated over a million dollars to small business owners and organizations. Her philanthropy extended to giving away turkeys during the holidays, furnishing dorms and apartments for college students, and writing grants for many churches and organizations. Lenda passed away in 2016, and Carl followed in 2022, but their legacy and contributions have not been forgotten.

In their honor, the 24Hr Entrepreneur will now provide grants to businesses and organizations through the Terry Len Grant Foundation. Applicants must fill out an application, and all submissions will be vetted by the 24Hr Entrepreneur Board of Directors. The winner will be announced at the Excellence Gala on August 31. The foundation embodies the belief that it is never too late to reinvent oneself as an individual and a business owner, continuing Lenda and Carl's vision of support and growth for the community.
